where can you get used Snowboards cheap and what do i look for?
fell in love with Snowboarding but cant afford a new one… is there a website that i can get Used Snowboards cheap? and what size should the board and the Bindings should be?
If you’re strictly looking for used boards, check out your local craigslist, ski shop (most have ski swaps or know of people looking to sell their used decks), or pro shop at a resort. Personally, I wouldn’t buy a used board online, but there are some on ebay if you feel comfortable with that.
There are a ton of websites that have last year’s models on sale for up to 50% off. My favorites are The House Boardshop and Sierra Snowboard. Sierra has some really great deals. The House sells full packages, boot/binding packages and everything individually.
It’s usually best to buy your boots in person so you can try them on. If you find a good deal online, try to find a store near you that carries the same model or brand to make sure you like how the boot fits before you buy it.
Snowboards are generally sized by weight (NOT height) and by riding style. Since you’re just beginning, you probably want an all-mountain/freeride board as opposed to a freestyle/park/jib board. Most boards will have a size chart printed on the back, or you can look it up online. Both sites I told you about also have general size charts, but those are just a guide, so check the individual board chart to be sure. Bindings go by boot size. Usually men’s medium is 6-9, large is 9-12. But again, it depends on the brand, so double check the size chart on the binding.
